March 18th: Teela leaving

Teela, the community manager and flag holder for most of Heliums life said the following:

@everyone

This is my goodbye for now. I am taking a step back as your 'community manager' and your central point of inquiry.

Over the last years I have always defended the Helium team and have always believed in the Helium project.

However, I have come to a point where I will have to part ways with the project, primarily because I believe that the direction of the project at the present moment is no longer in line with what I believed the vision was from the beginning.

I know that this statement will raise a few questions from the community. I have chosen to take a step back from being in the fore of things.

I wish the Helium project the best of luck going forward.

On the same day KarmaShark provided a few words also:

Good day all,

Naturally, the team and project is saddened to see a long time member move on in Teela. He brought a high blockchain IQ and a tremendous amount of patience to the table. The entire core team wishes him the very best in his future endeavors and we hope to stay in touch as relations are good.

From a project perspective, my last Medium update gave insight into the realities of running a blockchain network in a year long + bear market. Without Coins101 and his business-team he put together to handle the Enterprise-side of construction and infrastructure, it has thrust the core team into the role of being experts in a field that is relatively new to us all.

There is progress being made on this front as I have been working with several companies in the supply chain sector who are interested in what Helium may build for its second layer. There has also been internal team discussions about whether the current focus for Helium makes the most sense given we lost the personnel that are experts in construction / infrastructure supply chain. What we have been doing is looking at the teams core strengths, backgrounds and areas of interest. We are also considering where our industry connections lie, as they are quite powerful however of little use to us currently with the focus being on construction / supply chian.
In short, the project is still very much alive and the core team is meeting on a daily basis to determine the best direction for the network
